"On Saturday evening I had the pleasure of attending the final performance of the Hinckley and District Gang Show at the Concordia Theatre.

I had travelled up from the Brecon Beacons the previous day and would like to register my thanks to all the leaders and scouts of both genders for their hard work and commitment in putting on such a great show.

In 1956 I was fortunate to have been in Ralph Reader’s gang show held in the Royal Albert Hall and even though it is the distant past, I am able to compare the two events and would have no hesitation in saying that the Concordia version was every bit as good.

The children (and adults) in this production showed tremendous commitment over many months of rehearsals to polish their performances to such a high degree.

It is imprudent to single out any individuals apart from the leaders who, without any financial help, give so much time and money to guide our young people and create satisfactory citizens.

Hinckley and district can be both thankful and proud that they have such a thriving scouting movement within their area"..........
